Tutorial- Beaded Ball

Hello!

This is the first post ever here on this blog, and because of that, I've decided I was going to show how to make something very simple and easy! This beaded ball is super easy to make, and it's perfect for those who are just beginning to learn the 3D beading technique. This is also the first thing I've learned when I first started experimenting with 3D beading.

I would like to point it out that, this is my first tutorial ever! I've never done anything like this before, and I've tried my best to make it very easy to understand.
If you still have any doubts concerning this tutorial, feel free to contact me via e-mail, or just leave a comment below. Also, feel free to leave any suggestions or complaints =)
So let's get to it!

You're gonna need:

  • A nylon thread approx. 50cm (20 inch)
  • One red marker and one black marker
  • A small bell
  • A small ring
  • A strap (any kind that you want)
  • Scissors
  • 30 beads (any kind, shape, size or color that you want. Just a reminder though, if you use big sized beads, you're gonna need a bigger one to put inside the ball to hold its shape. Here I used a round 6 mm beads)

Start off by coloring one end of your nylon thread black, and the other end red. This will help me guide you through this tutorial. Start with 5 beads and crossover on the last one.

Put 3 beads through the black string and 1 bead through the red string. Pass the black string through the bead you added on your red string.

Pass your black string through the next bead.

Pick up 2 beads and pass it through the red string, pick another one and pass it through the black string. Pass your red string through the bead that you added on your black string.

Pass your red string through the bead that's aligned next to the bead that you just added.

Add 2 beads to the black string and 1 bead to the red string. Pass your black string through the bead that you added on your red string.

Pass your black string through the next bead aligned.

Pass 2 beads through your red string and 1 bead through your black string. Pass your red string through the bead you added on your black string.

Pass your red string through the next two beads.

Pass 1 bead through your black string and another one through your red string. Pass your black string through the bead you added on your red string.

Pass your black string through the next bead. At this point, you'll have the shape of a half ball.

Pass 2 beads through your red string and 1 bead through the black string. Pass your red string through the bead that you added on your black string.

Pass your red string through the next two beads.

Pass 1 bead through your black string and another one through the red string. Pass your black string through the bead you added on your red string.

Pass the black string through the next two beads.

Pass 1 bead through each side of your strings. Pass your red string through the bead on the black string.

Pass the red string through the next two beads.

Pass the ring and 1 bead through the black string and 1 bead through the red string. Pass your black string through the bead on the red string.

Pass the black string through the next three beads.

Now put the bell inside the ball, pass 1 bead through any of the strings and crossover.

Your beaded ball is almost ready! Pass your strings through 2 beads on each side so they can meet. Tie off, pass the strings through a few beads and cut. Attach the strap to the ring and that's it! You're done!

As I said before, you can use any kind, size and shape of beads. You can also mix colors like this pink one.

To make this cute pink ball I used 3 different colors and a diamond shaped beads.
I hope this tutorial was easy to follow and that you give it a try. Most importantly, have fun with it!
